4. Bread, A 5 Minute Guided Devotional Series, Episode 4, Seedtime and Harvest

Josh Hallmark Season 2 Episode 4

Bread is a guided devotional series. And my intention is to help you connect with God, meaningful way in about five minutes.

In this episode we discuss the Law of the Farm.

Then God said, Let the land and sprout with vegetation, every sort of seed bearing plant and trees that grow seed bearing fruit.
They Sage will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they can. And that's what happened.

The land produced vegetation, all sorts of seed bearing plants, and the trees with seed bearing fruit, their seed produce plants, trees are the same.
Oh God saw this saw that it was good.

So here we see something. We have plants. We have fruit.
We have seeds. And each day, God would pause and see that what he did was good. There are certain things in this passage that God thought was good but one of the things that God thought was good was this principle of seeds and seeds being the way that life is perpetuated or multiplied, if you will, with the plants and the trees.
Even after the flood and after Noah came off the ark, God reiterated the same thing. In Genesis chapter a verse 22 he said as long as Earth endures, as long as the earth endures. There will be seed time and harvest, cold and he summer, winter these other things that God said was good by the way.

When it comes to seed time and harvest something that we need to know is that God thinks seeds are good.

He likes the idea of there being seeds and us using seeds to create a harvest.
Now he was talking about plants right there.

Paul the Apostle makes the jump. And he applies this metaphorically to our lives. Galatians chapter six houses Do not be deceived God cannot be mocked In other words, this principle of sowing and reaping this principle of seeds perpetuating a life of the same kind. It can't be mocked it's a principle that endures.
Paul says a man reap what you sow, and whatever. Whoever says to please their flesh from the flesh will read destruction but whoever says to please the spirit or soul, spirit will reap eternal life.

And this must just confirm something is this, is that God thinks that we are powerful.
God has set this principle for that we can sew to the Spirit.
And we can read from the things that we so God thinks we're so powerful that at the end of our lives he will actually hold us accountable for the things that we said, we didn't know something today. If there's something different that you want to see in your life.

Why not begin to sow seeds towards that.
Instead of sow into the flesh which Paul says are things like lust or jealousy or discord or hatred or rage, sort of sewing these things, want to show to the spirit, the things that Paul mentions there are things like patience and joy, peace, gentleness kindness the fruits of the Spirit. If also those things. Then we'll read the things that we really want in our lives.

That's fruit with seed in it.
Now, let's pray together. The Lord's Prayer. And if you would pray with me Jesus said, This then is how you should pray.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Say it with.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread and
forgive us our debts as we have also forgiven our debtors.
Lord, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil.
Amen.

And would you make these declarations with me today over your day. Based on today's message and on others. Number one, I can do this. It's a good thing to say. Do this.
God sees me.
God is with me.
I made for meaningful work.
I am reflecting on my work and see what is good.
God is bringing order and light into my life.

Here we go. I am sewing. What I want to reproduce. And we thank you for that principle. We want to cooperate with that principle. And so right thanks, thanks to our contributors and thank you for being part of bread.
I'm glad that you and I were able to do this together.
