Hey there, I'm Josh, and this is Bread. Bread is a guided devotional series. And my intention is to help you connect with God, meaningful way in about five minutes. This is episode number three. Today, we're looking at a verse together and a meditation on that verse. We will be saying the Lord's prayer together. And then finally, we'll be making declarations together over our day.

Let's get started. Verse, For the days Matthew chapter four verse four. It says this Jesus answered, It is written. Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth. Go to things to pay attention to right here. First of all, Jesus is mentioning, what was written. So Jesus had a high value for the written word of God, the logos. But then Jesus said, what the point is making of the verse. Is it in God's Holy Writ, if you will, in God's word. It is written that man will not live on bread alone in other words that staple that's actually been a staple for for millennia, bread, that which gives us sustenance, that basic building block of life. There's more than required for us to live. And they said that we live actually on every word that comes out of the mouth of God. So this word word word. The Greek word for every word is the word rain. And what it actually means is the spoken word of God. And something, I think it's really important for us to get is that God is a speaking, the desires relationship and relationship. Well, it entails communication, and Jesus is saying, Look, it's not just the written word, but actually the spoken word of God. Is this line, slide, and so it's really important for us every relationship that they're not living just on bread alone is so important. Right. But just as important, is that we actually hear those sustaining words from God. And just one minute hearing a word from the Lord to completely change outcome of your day. Will you take a moment and listen to God. So notice or anything that you'd like to say. So anything you ever bring to my heart anything you'd like to speak to me about. And then sometimes, I need to pay attention and maybe I can do more talks on how God speaks, sometimes a little spring on salt to remind you of a verse of scripture that you know, or not remind you something that he's spoken to your heart before. And this word actually becomes that systems that you live by. We don't live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And here's some good good news for you. john chapter 14 verse 26. Jesus said the advocate, the Holy Spirit, the father of sending money. He will teach you. And he will remind you of all the things that I've seen all the things that God has spoken. The Holy Spirit will remind us of both the written things, and the spoken things and the things that God and say it or is speaking to us the Holy Spirit or not. So that's our verse for the day.

Now, could we move on to our, our prayer time only encourage you to pray along with today and make these declarations outlet. Let's pray together. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be earth as it is in the Universe Today. Our daily buzz counts. And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. Yeah.

Let's say these together. Are you ready, based on our past episodes, along with today's. I can do this. God sees me. God is with me. I am made for meaningful work. I'm reflecting on my work and seeing what is good. God is bringing order and light into my life. And from today, God is speaking to me, and I'm living by his words, which are gone to rock this. Thanks to our contributors. And thank you for taking part in this devotional series. I'm glad we got to do this together.
